PHOTO-TRANS is a premium quality heat transfer paper
which has been specifically designed to run trouble free in COLOR LASER COPIERS.

IMPORTANT NOTE: COLOR LASER PRINTERS AND COLOR LASER COPIERS ARE NOT THE SAME!

Color Laser Copiers (CLCs) are generally low fusing temperature color laser copiers, large units usually found in copy shops, that use a fuser oil. Color Laser Printers ( CLPs) are color laser printers with high fusing temperatures that do not use a fuser oil and run a larger # of copies per minute in color. These will generally be desk top models found in offices and newer color laser copiers coming on the market that do not use a fuser oil. These two types of machines require different papers. If you are not sure which paper you need, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-658-2027 and we will help you select the proper paper for your machine. In other words, if you run a low fusing temperature paper thru a high temperature fusing machine you will melt it to the rollers. We are providing this information to help you better understand the machines you are working with so that when you run your transfer paper the first time you will be a happy customer!

When processed in a CLC, PHOTO-TRANS produces remarkably bright,vivid, full color images which are then generally transferred to white or light colored fabrics (t-shirts, sweat-shirts, caps, mousepads etc.) via standard manual or automatic heat presses. Depending on material type, the image is transferred utilizing the correct time, temperature, and pressure*.

When it is desirable to transfer to dark colored fabric, ULTRA WHITE OPAQUE should be used as a second step.

PHOTO-TRANS^® ImageClip Heat Transfer Paper eliminated the need to "weed" or trim around the image area of the transfer and the product is not prone to undesired toner spots in the non-image area. It enhances aesthetic quality of the finished product since you don't have the "darkened" area from the non-printed portion of the transfer. It also allows decorators to apply heat transfers to 100 percent synthetic materials such as athletic apparel. Previously, they could be done only on cotton or cotton blends. Recommended for "heavier" fabrics like canvas and sweats where many other brand papers perform poorly.

Photo-Trans SC is a heavier stock transfer paper and is preferred by some for printing to "heavier" fabrics such as canvas or sweatshirts. This paper may need to be run manually through the bypass with your machine set for card stock although "SC" does have a special anti-stat added to reduce static buildup improve cassette feeding. OPAQUE1117 ULTRA WHITE OPAQUE FOR DARK SHIRTS

Ultra White: Is a second step and is used in conjunction with Photo-Trans as well as our other transfer papers This product is an optional "second step" and is used with the transfer paper and enables you to apply transferred images to colored or black T-shirts. These sheets are not processed in your copy machine. Available in 11 X 17 sheets which you cut to the size you need (depending on image size) and are applied with Photo-Trans or inkjet transfer paper during the heat press application. See our directions and applications for more info on using Photo-Trans Opaque. When used for black or red shirts, we recommend 100% cotton shirts. *Note: some companies advertise the use of a standard home iron for applying heat transfers. Although this is possible, it is difficult to achieve consistent results with an iron. The manufacturer's generally only recommend the use of standard t-shirt type heat presses, as this is really the only way to be assured of professional results.
