When you are ready to print your image, follow these steps:
1. Make sure that you have selected 'Mirror', 'Flip', 'Reverse' or a similar setting in your application, if it is required, so that the image will be printed backwards. If there is no text in your image, you may not have to reverse your image.
2. Test by printing your image on a sheet of plain paper.
3. If you are satisfied with how your image looks, insert a single sheet of INKJET PLUS in your printer. It is easy to tell which side to print on, as one side is blank (to print on), and one side has the GREEN LINES. Make sure that the paper is not creased or curled.
4. In your printer driver, select the 360 dpi setting (or higher) and the correct paper setting for your type of printer:
CANON: T-shirt transfers.
EPSON: Plain paper setting, depending on the model.
HEWLETT-PACKARD: High quality glossy paper.
5. Set the paper thickness lever on your printer for standard paper.
6. Print your image.
7. Remove your printed sheet from your printer. Do not handle the paper while the ink is drying.

Preheat the heat press to 375° Fahrenheit. To remove any moisture from the fabric, press for a few seconds and allow to cool. This aids in better adhesion of the image to the fabric. Place the transfer face down in the desired position and press using heavy pressure for 15 seconds. Peel the transfer while it is still hot to yeild a natural matte finish.

Commercial heat presses are always the preferred method for printing transfers. Precise temperature and pressure controls are not available with a household iron and consistent transfer results may be difficut. It is often hard to keep from having cold spots or low pressure areas when using a hand held iron and result in spots where the print may not completely transfer. We offer the following recommendations for those who choose to use a hand held iron for hobby or home use. |
1. Preheat the iron on its highest temperature setting for at least 8 minutes. The iron must be very hot! Do not use steam.
2. Place the pillowcase on the ironing surface with the open end hanging over the edge and smooth it flat so that there are no wrinkles.
3. Place the article on the pillowcase (i.e. T-shirt, sweatshirt, apron, etc.) so that the area that you want the image to be transferred to is centered on the pillowcase surface. Smooth out the fabric so that there are no wrinkles.
TIP: You may want to iron the pillowcase and the fabric so that they are both smooth before ironing on the transfer. Be sure to let both of them cool completely before placing the transfer on the fabric.
4. Preheat the garment for a few seconds to remove any excess moisture from the fabric and allow the fabric to cool. This will aid in the adhesion of the image to the fabric.
5. Place the image to be transferred face down on the garment in the desired position.6. Do not touch the iron to the transfer paper prior to beginning. If the iron touched the transfer paper in any way other than listed below, you will not get a clean transfer.
7. Starting on one end, push iron slowly along the transfer while using firm body pressure while pressing down. Try and overlap the edges of the transfer. If the transfer is larger than the footprint of the iron you will need to move over enough to make another pass over the unpressed area while overlapping all edges.
8. TRANSFER MUST BE PEELED WHILE HOT. You may need to re-heat the entire surface by making 10 complete circles with the iron over the transfer while being certain to cover all edges and corners. Peel the paper while the transfer is hot.
Any 'stiffness' felt in the transfer area will become much softer after you wash the garment.
1. Always turn your garment inside out. This will minimize the amount of abrasion that the transfer will encounter with other garments in the wash.
2. Wash the garment in cold water using a mild detergent immediately after placing the garment in the water. DO NOT ALLOW THE GARMENT TO SIT OR SOAK IN THE WATER PRIOR TO WASHING.
3. DO NOT USE BLEACH. USE MILD COLOR SAFE DETERGENT.
4. Remove the garment from the wash immediately and allow to air dry. If you are going to tumble dry, use the air only setting. By doing this over the life of the garment, you will be ensuring that your image stays clear and bright.
5. If your garment needs to be ironed, do not iron directly on the transferred area. Use a Teflon® sheet or baking parchment to cover the transfer before ironing.
Store INKJET PLUS in a cool, dry place. After opening the shrink wrapped packages, put the paper into the re-sealable plastic bag, and if available, include one silica gel (desiccant) package. This will keep the paper from picking up excess moisture on high humidity days.

The manufacturer does everything possible to test each of our grades of paper on various substrates using many different types of printing and transfer equipment. However, it is impossible to duplicate all printing and transfer processes, which include a multitude of different imaging devices, heat transfer equipment (including many different home irons) and substrate materials, as well as various combinations of the above. Therefore, it is essential that you test the paper you plan to use before beginning production, to determine the suitability of the paper, when used with your equipment, methods, and substrate material.
